1. Use of the App

step lock is an iOS application that helps users reduce screen time by temporarily locking selected apps until they complete a walking goal, using Apple's Screen Time API and HealthKit. Access to core functionality requires an active subscription.

You may only use the app for its intended purpose. Any misuse, including attempts to bypass or manipulate its locking features or falsify step data, is prohibited.

2. No Account Required

You are not required to create an account to use step lock. All data is stored locally on your device.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

The app is free to download, but a paid subscription is required to access key features. Payments are processed through Apple's App Store.

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds, except as required by applicable law or Apple's own policies.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to enhance the app experience:

• Superwall for paywall presentation and subscription handling.
• PostHog for anonymized analytics related to app usage and behavior.
• Apple HealthKit to read step count data from your device.

No personally identifiable information is stored on external servers. Data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

5. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Use the app for unlawful or unintended purposes.
• Reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to circumvent its core functions.
• Exploit bugs or errors in the app.
• Manipulate or spoof step count data to bypass locking features.

We reserve the right to restrict access if the app is used in ways that violate these terms or compromise its functionality.

6. Age Requirement

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising use by minors.

7. Health Disclaimer

step lock is a productivity and habit-building tool, not a medical application. Step goals set within the app are not a substitute for professional medical or fitness advice. Consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new physical activity program.

8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding effectiveness, availability, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of step lock.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
